The historian was entirely correct, but she was lucky that she was on Don Lemon's show. He is not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he was decent enough to let a guest speak. Whoopi, Joy Reid, etc. would have yelled over this professor and no doubt finished off with accusing her of racism.
There is a little known fact that Great Britian paid slave owners for their slaves when ending the practice. Britain just finished paying off the debt from ending slavery a couple of years ago.
