That truck seems pretty fast. That's good because I wouldn't want that fuck!ng thing close behind me.
Soooo... the question is why are these companies doing what they're doing in regards to their advertising?
I have an opinion, of course you know what they say about opinions.
Perhaps the marketing torch has passed to a younger generation that was raised on virtue signaling at every opportunity. While this is possible it is unlikely that the older, more sensible, executives are all put out to pasture.
The next answer is that a lot of companies make products overseas with slave labor, child labor, grossly underpaid labor or they make their products in countries with concentration camps (China). Virtue signaling here can help offset complaints about a phone made where Chinese Muslims are put into death camps. "It's OK if poison is put into a bunny's eyes when testing eye shadow, the company donates to BLM!"
The last answer is very likely. ESG scores are either here or they're coming. When some (Blackrock?) are investing due to ESG (Enviromental, Societal, Governmental) scores then this woke BS can help pump up your scores. The day is coming when everyone is rated by ESG scores and that is one of the most important thing for investors. Perhaps these companies are getting out in front of that.
Personally, I believe it's a bit of all 3.
