I suspect that Socialism and Socialists are a lot like Sanctuary Cities. Do you remember all of the self righteous Lefty Mayors and Sanctuary Cities until... it was time to actually walk the walk?
Socialists don't actually want to pool their resources. They want to lay around, do minimal work and draw a good salary without much effort.
