Jack Daniel Knew the Value of Inclusion (msn.com)
You can't have DEI without lowering standards, setting quotas and dumbing things down. We see this again and again when some someone is trumpeting the new hotness in reforms regarding corporate America, our schools or even our military. The thing that never changes is that those in charge are lowering standards.
I don't see where the good folks at Jack Daniels did that. It seems like they used merit in hiring. Modern day America could learn something from them.
"As we discuss DEI today, it feels like we’re losing the plot. It shouldn’t be an either/or debate—it’s a matter of “and.” Women and people of color make up 70% of the population, and we are essential to the workforce. But we don’t want special treatment; we want equality—equal pay and equal opportunities."
The statement above doesn't ring true to me. Didn't we just have a Supreme Court case in which Black people wanted to continue receiving special treatment in college admissions (Harvard) in spite of having lower, and often much lower, scores?
