The Madness of the Daniel Penny/Jordan Neely Case I Glenn Loury and John McWhorter

Interesting.
Penny must have lived his life in a pretty good manner. No one came forward to speak against him, he has nothing to see on social media and didn't spend his days roaming the streets as a Batman like vigilante.
On the other hand, from what I've read Neely had 42 arrests, walked away from treatment programs, was considered one of the most "Troubled" homeless people in NYC, tried to kidnap a child and broke bones in the face of an elderly woman that he assaulted. This is a short description of Jordan Neely.
Somehow, Neely's behavior was bad enough that three men (White, Black and Latino) thought that they should restrain him until a cop was found. Bear in mind that it was reported that Neely brought an odor of "Soiled sweatpants" onto the subway car with him.
Consider that the 3 "Vigilantes" thought that Neely's behavior was bad enough that they decided to roll around on the subway floor (clearly a pristine environment) with a guy that smelled of BO, ball sweat, pi$$ or $h!t.
