I wonder where they would have ended up if they had a Bronze Age or if there was iron in that part of the world.
One thing that I always wondered about is the claims of earlier trade from Africa. Some (religiously) like to claim that there was trade before the age of the Conquistadors. My thoughts are that if there was actually widespread trade between Africa and the New World then the Aztecs would have likely already been exposed to mumps, measles, small pox etc. and there would not have been the massive death toll from disease after the Spanish arrived.
