I'll make a couple of quick points instead of fisking the entire column.
In regards to generational wealth, Jim Crow did effect generational wealth to some degree although it only takes one generation to break a cycle of poverty.
One of the biggest factors in the wealth gap is the fact that the most most common among Whites is 58 vs 27 for Blacks. Another interesting fact that Obama left out is that 55% of Whites are/have been married vs 34% for Blacks. Don't get me started on education and teen pregnancies.
