I read a column a few years ago in which the author claimed that changing someone's political views is as difficult as convincing someone to change their religion. I can believe it.
This gentleman's journey to the Right took several years.
Most Liberals vote for abortion, free shit and lower standards. As none of those items ever seemed part of his political core I can only image how hard (or impossible) his conversion would have been if he were the standard Liberal.
