Over the last few months, there's been a mountain of new gun laws proposed, passed, and in some cases... shot down. We've been told time and time again that "Assault Weapons" are a major problem in American society.
When looking at the FBI's chart below, we see that criminals used rifles to kill 358 times in 2010. Bear in mind that this chart includes ALL rifles instead of just "Assault Weapons." ARs, AKs, etc make up just a fraction of the rifle murders in the US.
It would appear that we're being lied to when the politicians, the media, and the anti gun movement tell us that we have an epidemic of "Assault Weapon" killings. Of course they do sometimes happen, but you're more likely to be stabbed, clubbed, or beaten to death than killed with an AR or AK.
Let's take this information one step further to put things in perspective. You're at a greater risk of drowning than you are of being murdered with a rifle.
358 rifle murders out of a nation of more than 311 million people.

So we're being lied to on a regular basis. Think about this while watching you favorite media sources. Consider the words of those in DC when they are calling for further regulations and bans.
Ask yourself if they are trustworthy enough for you to allow them to curtail a Constitutional right.
